International Programmes

International Professional Education

Intensive language and professional education for people preparing to work across borders, tailored to the language and practical communication requirements of the destination country.

International work starts with the destination country

An international transfer or a new job abroad requires more than professional knowledge alone. A professional must be able to function in the language of the workplace, understand instructions, communicate with colleagues and, where relevant, communicate clearly with patients, clients or institutions.

Chiversity organises education around that practical need. The required language, level and professional context are determined by the intended destination and the role for which the participant is preparing.

Language is a separate professional specialisation

Professional expertise and language proficiency are different competencies. Someone may be highly experienced in a medical, nursing or technical profession and still need intensive language education before being able to work safely and independently in another country.

For this reason, Chiversity develops and organises intensive language programmes as an independent part of international professional preparation. The teaching combines general language proficiency with the vocabulary and communication situations that participants encounter in their actual work.

Chinese → German

Intensive German-language education for Chinese professionals preparing for work in Germany. For healthcare and nursing personnel, the programme can include medical terminology, professional communication, patient communication and workplace documentation.

Chinese → French

Intensive French-language education for Chinese professionals preparing for a French-speaking working environment. The programme is adapted to the destination, sector and professional communication required in practice.

Medical and nursing professionals

For medical and nursing personnel, professional preparation and language preparation must be clearly distinguished. The medical pathway, including the profession-specific requirements for international deployment, belongs to Chimedics Exchange. Chiversity’s role is educational: organising the language and other training that is required within that preparation.

This separation keeps responsibilities clear while allowing the programmes to be coordinated. A participant can therefore follow the required professional pathway through Chimedics Exchange and, at the same time, receive intensive language education organised by Chiversity for the same destination country.

How an intensive language pathway is organised

The exact programme varies by participant group and destination, but the educational structure follows a clear sequence.

  1. 1

Intake and level assessment: current language level, target level, profession, destination and practical communication needs are established.

  2. 2

Intensive general language education: speaking, listening, reading and writing are developed in a concentrated programme.

  3. 3

Professional language: terminology, recurring workplace situations and communication patterns are added for the participant’s sector.

  4. 4

Practical application: role plays, conversations, instructions and realistic professional situations are used to turn knowledge into usable communication.

  5. 5

Assessment and progression: development is measured during the programme and the next educational step is determined from the achieved level.

The other direction: learning Chinese for professional relations with China

International professional education also works in the opposite direction. Professionals who want to build a business, institutional or professional relationship with China benefit from understanding both the Chinese language and the context in which it is used.

For this purpose, Chiversity developed the Chiversity Chinese Immersion Experience: a high-level, highly intensive Chinese-language programme in Hohhot in which the Chinese lessons are taught through English. Participants study Chinese intensively while living in a Chinese environment and using the language in daily situations.

This is the most intensive Chinese-language pathway within Chiversity. The objective is not to suggest complete fluency within one month, but to build a substantial practical foundation in a short period so that professionals can continue developing their language ability with a much stronger understanding of China.

  • Duration: 30 days in China
  • Teaching: 25 lesson days, 6 hours per lesson day
  • Instruction language for the Chinese lessons: English
  • Location: Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, China

One educational principle, two directions

For Chinese professionals moving toward Europe, Chiversity can organise intensive German or French education linked to the working environment they are entering. For international professionals moving toward China, Chiversity provides intensive Chinese education through English in China itself.

The common principle is straightforward: language education should not be separated from the situation in which the language will be used. Intensive teaching, professional context and daily application are combined so that language becomes a practical tool for international work.
