News Rate announcements News Rate announcements Rate announcements Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) – O4N 10 Apr 2025 Share LinkedIn Facebook X.com WeChat Email Copy link In order to keep providing you with our global services, Maersk is introducing the Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) for the Scope Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Fiji Islands, Samoa, Tonga to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Jordan, Bahrain, Iraq, United Arab Emirates , Oman , Qatar with effective 01-May-25 and for American Samoa to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Jordan, Bahrain, Iraq, United Arab Emirates , Oman , Qatar the effective date would be 09-May-25. The surcharge amount is detailed as follows: Surcharge - PSS Origin Destination Currency 20DRY 40'DRY/HDRY 45HDRY Origin Australia/New Zealand/Papua New Guinea/Solomon Islands/Fiji/American Samoa/Samoa/Tonga Destination Saudi Arabia /Kuwait/Jordan /Bahrain /Iraq/United Arab Emirates /Oman /Qatar Currency USD 20DRY 400 40'DRY/HDRY 400 45HDRY 400 * Non-SPOT booking – The above rate is retrieved based on PCD. PCD = Price Calculation Date. For non-FMC, PCD refers to the scheduled departure date of the first water leg at the time of booking confirmation for non-spot bookings. For FMC, PCD is last container gate-in date for non-spot bookings. * SPOT booking – The above rate is retrieved based on 1st vessel ETD at booking confirmation for Spot bookings. For your reference, we have also included the levels and rate structure for some sample corridors valid from 01st May 2025 until further notice. These may be subject to future change; however, we will make sure to notify you accordingly. These rates are unaffected by, and do not affect, any tariff notified, published or filed in accordance with local regulatory requirements. For trades subject to the US Shipping Act or the China Maritime Regulations, quotations or surcharges that vary from the Maersk tariff shall not be binding on Maersk unless included in a service contract or service contract amendment that has been filed with the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) or the Shanghai Shipping Exchange, as applicable.
